Maureen McMahon ‘84 was a 14-time All-American over the course of her Smith career. An outstanding swimmer in the freestyle, butterfly, and medley relays, McMahon set a new meet record at the 1982 New England Championships by winning the 50 fly with a time of 27.23.  In her senior season of 1984, McMahon wrote her name into Smith College history, capturing the NCAA championship in the 100 fly with a time of 58.36, setting a new national record at that time.  McMahon holds the Smith College record in the 100 fly, as well as being part of the record holding teams in the 400 and 800 freestyle relays.
