Game Preview: Swimming and Diving vs. Husson

NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--The Smith College swimming and diving team (2-2) will take part in their penultimate meet of the season, hosting Husson University (0-4) in a dual meet in Dalton Pool on Saturday afternoon. 

Last Meeting: Smith dominated Husson with a 216-65 dual meet win over the Eagles on January 29, 2011.  Eleven different members of the team earned wins, as Smith recorded 14 total victories.  Jenika Parson (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) led Smith to sweep the top five places in the one meter dive, while Lily Seidman (Westfield, Ind./Westfield) won the 500 free and the 50 back, while Emma Reim (Ledyard, Conn./Ledyard) captured the 100 back.  Lenora Walter (Santa Ynez, Calif./Santa Ynez Valley), Victoria Wu (Avon, Conn./Avon), Hayley Bezubka (N. Kingstown, R.I./N. Kingstown), Rebecca Rosen (Harrington Park, N.J./Northern Valley Regional), Alexis Clair-Roerich, Mackenzie Bradley (Sherwood, Ore./Sherwood), Robin Currens (Frederick, Md./Gov. Johnson), and the 200 free relay team of Rachel Gainer, Lauren Kauffman (Scottsdale, Ariz./Phoenix Country Day), Reyna Levine (Kalamazoo, Mich./Loy Norrix), and Rebekah Renfro (Rockledge, Fla./Eau Gallie) all posted wins.

Smith Overview:  The Pioneers are coming off a fourth place finish at the Seven Sisters Swimming and Diving Championships, which was hosted by Smith.  Bradley earned Smith's only win in the 1,650 freestyle, touching the wall in 18:30.37, while Parson took second in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dive with scores of 433.40 and 436.20, both of which were NCAA qualifying marks.  Bradley also took second in the 200 fly in 2:19.98) and third in the 500 free (5:26.05), while Alyssa Pascuzzo (Scottsdale, Ariz./Notre Dame Prep) came in third in the 200 IM (2:19.05) and 100 fly (1:02.76)

Husson Overview: A growing program, Husson has been led this season by freestylers Hali Fleishman and Sarah Klopp.  Martina Bosse is the Eagles' top diver.  Head coach Butch Babin led the Eagles to a sixth place finish at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference championships in December.
