NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--The Smith College field hockey team (2-2, 0-0 NEWMAC) begins NEWMAC play with a visit to Mount Holyoke College (2-2, 0-0 NEWMAC) on Saturday. 

Last Meeting: Mount Holyoke topped Smith 9-0 on September 17, 2011.  Savannah Lawson (Oak Bluffs, Mass./Martha's Vineyard) made 24 saves, three short of the school record.

Last Smith Win: Smith 2, Mount Holyoke 1 (2OT, PSO) on October 6, 2003.  The second of two meetings between the teams in 2003, Smith got a measure of revenge for a 2-1 defeat at the Seven Sisters Championship earlier that season. 

Smith Overview: Smith rebounded from a pair of tough losses to start the season with two resounding wins over Bay Path and Elms.  The Smith offense has caught fire, scoring 22 goals in the two contests, with Allie Stein (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) tying her own school record for points in a game (13) in both contests.

Mount Holyoke Overview: The Lyons have lost two straight, leaking 15 goals in losses to Castleton State College (7-2) and No. 11 Amherst College (8-1).  Mount Holyoke had started the season with consecutive wins over Regis College (Mass.) and Nichols.

Smith Player to Watch: Caroline Noonan (Guilford, Conn./Guilford) came off the bench against Elms to net a hat trick in less than five minutes.

Mount Holyoke Player to Watch: Angelica Pascual leads the team with three goals this year, with the game winner in overtime against Regis.
