NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--The Smith College swimming and diving team won nine events en route to a 164-104 dual meet win over local opponent Elms College in Dalton Pool on Tuesday night.
Smith began with a dominating win in the 200 medley relay, where
Erika Schroeder (Houston, Texas/Memorial),
Olivia Bannon (Amherst, Mass./Amherst),
Grace Lee (Beaverton, Ore./Aloha), and
Alyssa Pascuzzo (Scottsdale, Ariz./Notre Dame Prep) clocked in first in 2:01.94. Up next was the 1,000 meter freestyle, where Smith swept the top three places.
Emily Lane (Centennial, Colo./Kent Denver School) finished first in 11:54.15, followed by
Laura Nunnelly (Amherst, Mass./Amherst) in 12:06.25 and
Hayley Bezubka (N. Kingstown, R.I./N. Kingstown) in 12:16.06.
Alyssa Pascuzzo (Scottsdale, Ariz./Notre Dame Prep) netted a win in the 100 yard backstroke, with a time of 1:08.55, followed by
Abby Onos (South Portland, Maine/South Portland) who came in second in 1:09.85. Bannon led a triumvirate of Pioneers in the 100 breastroke, with a time of 1:10.77, with
Leah VanHoeve (Annville, Ky./Homeschool) (1:17.59) and
Michaela Stamm (Lexington, Mass./Cambridge School) (1:22.49) placing second and third, respectively.
Bezubka picked up a win of her own in the 100 freestyle, in 59.90, while in the 500 freestyle,
Claire Dudek (Bethesda, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) won in a time of 5:49.17, with Bannon in second in 6:00.78.
Grace Lee (Beaverton, Ore./Aloha) also nabbed a win in the 50 freestyle, in 26.67.
The closest race of the night was the 100 fly, where
Cadence Miskimin (Guilford, Conn./Hopkins School) finished second in 1:07.99, 1/1000 of a second behind Elms' Abbey Will. Smith also swept the top three places in the 200 free relay, with the "B" grouping of
Hannah Francis (Chicago, Ill./Walter Payton Prep),
Devi Dearmon-Moore (Tucson, Ariz./Catalina Foothills),
Meredith Millman (Syosset, N.Y./Jerich), and
Alyssa Pascuzzo (Scottsdale, Ariz./Notre Dame Prep) finishing first in 1:52.09, ahead of "A"
Erika Schroeder (Houston, Texas/Memorial),
Gillian Anderson (Holden, Maine/John Bapst),
Cadence Miskimin (Guilford, Conn./Hopkins School), and

Cecelia Arrison (Weathersfield, Vt./Stevens (N.H.)) swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, scoring 201.80 on the 1-meter board and 238.00 on the 3-meter.
Smith will back in the pool on Saturday, hosting Westfield State in a dual meet on Saturday at 1 p.m.
