SOUTH HADLEY, Mass.--
Jenika Parson (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) won both diving events and
Mackenzie Bradley (Sherwood, Ore./Sherwood) was part of three wins as the Smith College swimming and diving team finished up the regular season with a 160-135 dual meet loss to Mount Holyoke College on Saturday.
Bradley won the 200 fly in 2:17.20, followed by a victory in the 200 backstroke in 2:21.27. Along with
Paige Christie (N. Andover, Mass./Austin Prep),
Meredith Millman (Syosset, N.Y./Jerich), and
Alyssa Pascuzzo (Scottsdale, Ariz./Notre Dame Prep), Bradley helped win the 400 yard freestyle relay in 3:58.95. She also took second place in the 1,000 yard freestyle in 10:57.37.
Parson swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives, scoring 234.35 on the 1-meter for a 15.40 point win, and 252.10 on the 3-meter, scoring a 21.90 point victory.
Kelsey Swensen (Crofton, Md./Annapolis) finished third in the 1,000 free, clocking in at 11:39.72, while Christie and
Claire Dudek (Bethesda, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) went 2-3 in the 200 yard free with respective times of 2:06.24 and 2:10.74.
Laura Nunnelly (Amherst, Mass./Amherst) took second place in the 100 backstroke; her time of 1:08.08 was less than one second out of first place.
Olivia Bannon (Amherst, Mass./Amherst) picked up a pair of second place finishes, including a very tight finish in the 100 yard backstroke in 1:10.60, right behind MHC's Maya Lazarovich in 1:10.27. Bannon also finished second in 2:33.46 in the 200 breaststroke. Pascuzzo was also involved in a photo finish, with a time of 57.57 in the 100 freestyle, just .10 seconds out of first place, while also finishing second in the 100 fly in 1:04.38 and third in the 200 yard IM in 2:22.00.
Smith will return to the pool at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by MIT from February 14-17.
