NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--The 2013 season kicks off for the Smith College field hockey team (0-0) when the Pioneers play host to Nichols College (0-1) on Tuesday afternoon. The game begins at 4:30 pm, and will be broadcast live over the web.
Last Meeting: Nichols pulled out a 7-6 win over Smith on September 4, 2012.
Kristen Estes (Falmouth, Mass./Falmouth) scored three times, while
Allie Stein (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) had two goals and two assists.
The Series: Nichols leads the all-time series, 5-4, including wins in the last four meetings. Smith last beat the Bison on September 9, 2008, in a 5-4 OT win.
