Box Score South Hadley, Mass. – Smith held No.19 Mount Holyoke to just one goal in the opening 18 minutes but couldn't keep the Lyons at bay as the visitors fell 7-1 Tuesday evening.
The Lyons outshot the Pioneers 24-8 as Mount Holyoke improved to 8-2 and 2-1 in NEWMAC play while Smith dropped to 1-9 and 0-4 with the loss. Sophie Perekslis led the Lyon offense with a pair of goals.
The Lyons' Julie Bell opened the scoring in the 5th minute on a feed from Kirsten Kilburn. First-year
Julia Hamilton (Williamstown, Mass./Deerfield Academy) tied the contest at 1-1 three minutes later with her second marker of the season.
Christine Ianni then scored in the 18th minute to make it a 2-1 game, firing in pass from Kilburn. Less than three minutes later, Kilburn netted a goal of her own to give Mount Holyoke a 3-1 lead at the half.
In the second half, the Lyons scored four unanswered goals to secure the win.

Cameo Tietje (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) made a season-high nine saves. Mount Holyoke's Liz DiCesare turned aside a pair of shots in net to earn the win.
