ResultsWORCESTER, Mass. – The Smith swimming and diving team competed in a series of dual meets at WPI Sunday afternoon, going 2-1 on the day. Smith defeated Babson College, 231-63 and Brandeis University, 200-93 before falling to the hosts from WPI, 163-131.
WPI won 11-of-16 events. Smith won three events, while Brandeis and Babson each won one.
Junior
Claire Dudek (Bethesda, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) highlighted the Pioneer day as she won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:41.03, 1.46 seconds ahead of the runner-up. Dudek also came in third in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:41.33) and helped the Smith 200-yard freestyle relay team to a third-place finish with a time of 1:53.12.
Senior
Alyssa Pascuzzo (Scottsdale, Ariz./Notre Dame Prep) also had a strong day with a first-place showing in the 100-yard butterfly, a runner-up showing in the 200-yard IM and a third place finish in 100-yard free.

Meredith Millman (Syosset, N.Y./Jerich) and sophomore
Erika Schroeder (Houston, Texas/Memorial) collected the other victory for the Pioneers, winning the race with a mark of 1:49.57. Schroeder also took second in the 100-yard backstroke, as did junior diver
Anna Partridge (Seattle, Wash./Mercer Island) in the three-meter diving competition and senior
Paige Christie (N. Andover, Mass./Austin Prep) in the 200-yard backstroke.
Smith returns to the pool on Tuesday at 7 p.m. for a dual meet against conference-foe Springfield College.
