NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – The Smith College swimming and diving team (4-2) returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Mount Holyoke (5-4) for a dual meet on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Prior to the competition, seniors from both teams will be honored in a Senior Day ceremony.
Last Meeting: Mount Holyoke captured a 160-135 win on February 12, 2013.
Jenika Parson (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) swept the diving events while
Mackenzie Bradley (Sherwood, Ore./Sherwood) won the 200-yard butterfly, 200-yard backstroke and was part of the victorious 400-yard freestyle relay team. The Lyons were led by Nora Cunningham who claimed the 50- and 100-yard freestyles and combined with Caitlin Lewis, Bethany Aban and Maya Lazarovich to win the 200-yard medley relay. Lazarovich took the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke as Lewis added a victory in the 100-yard backstroke. Cathleen Pruden touched the wall first in the 500- and 1,000-yard freestyle.
The Pioneers: Cecelia Arrison (Weathersfield, Vt./Stevens (N.H.)) swept the 1-meter (403.95) and 3-meter (419.45) events at the Seven Sisters Championship.
Olivia Bannon (Amherst, Mass./Amherst) delivered wins in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:10.14) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:32.07).
The Lyons: Cathleen Pruden won a trio of events at the Seven Sisters Championship, including an NCAA 'B' cut time of 4:29.557 in the 400-yard individual medley. She also took the 500-yard freestyle (5:05.977) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:09.327).
Next Up: Both teams head to WPI for the four-day NEWMAC Championship beginning on Thursday, February 20 at 5:30 p.m.
