NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - Despite first-place finishes from senior
Alyssa Pascuzzo (Scottsdale, Ariz./Notre Dame Prep) and sophomore
Erika Schroeder (Houston, Texas/Memorial), the Smith College swimming and diving program fell to Wellesley College, 212-88 Saturday afternoon in the Dalton Pool.
The Blue won 14 of 16 events to improve to 5-1 in duat meets this season while Smith falls to 4-3.
Pascuzzo finished with a time of 26.22 in the 50-Free, finishing ahead of sophomore
Grace Lee (Beaverton, Ore./Aloha), who touched the wall in fourth place with a time of 28.09. Schroeder clocked in at 1:03.97 in the 100-Back, finishing three seconds ahead Wellesley's Leah Furman.
The Pioneers also grabbed second place finishes in six events on the evening. First-year
Elyse Stone (Westborough, Mass./Westborough) grabbed second in both the one-meter and the three-meter dives, finishing with 269.85 points in the one-meter and 271.10 points in the three-meter.

Erin Walch (Alexandria, Ky./Academy of Math & Science) clocked in at 1:59.07, finishing behind the Wellesley 'A' Team at 1:56.37.
Junior
Claire Dudek (Bethesda, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) also touched the wall in second place in the 1000-Free and the 500-Free while Hart finished in second in the 200-Breaststroke with a time of 2:41.20, behind Wellesley's Lindsey Wu at 2:36.06.
Smith swimming and diving will travel to Mount Holyoke College to take part in the Seven Sisters Championship from January 17-18.
