NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--The Smith College field hockey team (7-6, 3-2 NEWMAC) was featured on the Team USA Field Hockey Website as one of the top college games in Division III this weekend. The Pioneers will honor its five seniors before the start of the game against MIT (8-2, 4-0 NEWMAC) Saturday at 5:00 p.m. Prior to the game, Smith will honor its five seniors: Marissa Vera, Maddi Wyda (Baltimore, Md./The Park School), Nora Demick (Watertown, Mass/Beaver Country Day), Kat Estes (Falmouth, Mass./Falmouth) and Casey Rau (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts).
Weekend College Games - DIII MIT at Smith
MIT currently sits second in the conference standings while Smith is at number four. However, Smith has already competed against the top opponents in the league, Babson and Wellesley, while MIT has only competed against the lower portion of the conference so far this season. The game should be a gritty one with both teams looking to gain more momentum heading into the post season.
