SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -Two Smith College divers recorded NCAA Division III Regional-qualifying scores during their dual meet at Mount Holyoke College Saturday afternoon.
Junior
Cecelia Arrison (Weathersfield, Vt./Stevens (N.H.)) and first-year
Elyse Stone (Westborough, Mass./Westborough) each accomplished the feat in the 1- and 3-meter dives. The duo joins teammate
Anna Partridge (Seattle, Wash./Mercer Island), who hit the qualifying mark earlier this season.
Divers need two national-qualifying scores during the regular season to qualify for the NCAA Diving Regional meet on February 27-28 at Springfield College.
Arrison took third in both events. She posted a six-dive score of 269.10 points in the 1-meter dive before scoring 268.60 points in the 3-meter dive.
Stone won the 1-meter event with a score of 281.50. She went on to post a runner-up finish in the three-meter with a score of 279.30, finishing second to Partridge, who won the event with 297.15 points.
As for the meet, the Lyons defeated the Pioneers, 165-133.
Prior to the contest, the two squads celebrated their seniors as part of Mount Holyoke's Senior Day celebration. Smith's senior class was honored, including

Ayla Staelin-Lefsky (Fort Collins, Colo./Poudre) and
Helen Zhang (Shanghai, China/SMIC). The Lyons honored seniors Rachel Boynton (Northampton, Mass./Northampton), Maya Lazarovich (South Burlington, Vt./South Burlington) and Rui Nozaki (Rio Rancho, N.M./Rio Rancho).
Junior
Claire Dudek (Bethesda, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) claimed the 500-yard freestyle (5:33.53) and helped the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Christie, sophomores
Erika Schroeder (Houston, Texas/Memorial) and
Eliza Cummings (Denver, Colo./Denver Center for Int'l Studies) touch the wall first with a time of 3:57.84.
Dudek also took second in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:24.13). Junior
Christine Hart (Rexford, N.Y./Niskayuna) posted a win in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.88) while Pascuzzo claimed second in the 200-yard IM (2:22.63).
The Pioneers are off until February 19, when they travel to Worcester, Mass., to compete at the 2015 NEWMAC Championships. Action at the meet begins on Thursday and runs through Sunday.
