WELLESLEY, Mass. - The Smith College swimming and diving team fell to Wellesley College, 214-84, Saturday afternoon in a dual meet hosted by the Blue.
Wellesley won 15 of 16 events to improve to 6-0 in dual meets this season, while Smith drops to 4-3.
First-year
Desi Stoyanova (Plovdiv, Bulgaria/Plovdiv Language School) placed first in the 1000-free, finishing in 11:13.06.
The Pioneers grabbed second place finishes in four events on the day. Stoyanova clocked in at 5:31.00 in the 500-free and
Hannah Francis (Chicago, Ill./Walter Payton Prep) was the runner-up in the 200-breast and 100-breast with times of 2:42.14 and 1:14.97, respectively.
CeCe Arrison's 1-meter score of 264.75 was another solid finish for the Pioneers, while Stoyanova added a third place finish in the 200-fly (2:17.55).
Meredith millman turned in third place times in the 50-free (27.06) and 100-free (58.87).
The Pioneers return to the pool for the Seven Sisters Championship hosted by Wellesley College January 23-24.
