Julia Hamilton (Williamstown, Mass./Deerfield Academy) scored Smith's only goal of the game in the Pioneers' 5-1 loss to Trinity College (1-0) Thursday evening.
This marked the first meeting with the Bantams since the 2003 season.
Trinity's Chandler Solimine opened the scoring in the 11th minute when she collected a rebound off the post for the game's first goal.
Just under five minutes later, Alison Slowe doubled the Bantam lead with her first goal of the season.
The two teams were scoreless until Molly Reilly's direct shot from the top of the circle blew by the Pioneer defense for a 3-0 lead with 43:34 on the clock.
Solimine netted her second goal of the game when she was perfectly placed at the stroke mark and shot the ball over the head of Smith's keeper.
Hamilton's goal came in the 66th minute when she gathered a rebound off the Trinity goalkeeper and sent it in the back of the net.
Cara Daly completed the scoring for the Bantams with her tally off a corner in the game's closing seconds.

Cameo Tietje (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) made 12 saves in the loss, while her counterpart Lori Berger stopped two shots for the Bantams. Trinity held significant advantages in shots on goal (17-3) and corners (8-4).
The Pioneers (1-2) return to action on Sunday, September 11 when they travel to Middlebury for a 4:00 p.m. start.
