Scouting Trinity
The Bantams face their first test of the 2016 season today in their season opener against Smith. Trinity returns 15 experienced players who look to lead the squad that includes many impact first-years among its eight-member rookie class. Junior forward Kelcie Finn followed up a record-breaking first-year campaign with a stellar sophomore season that saw her lead the team with nine goals and 23 total points and collect All-NESCAC honors for the second year in a row. Sophomore Lori Berger and first-year Sabrina Milone have been competing throughout preseason for the starting nod in the cage. The Bantams qualified for the postseason tournament for the 11th time and the eighth year in a row in 2015.

Scouting the Pioneers
Smith opened the 2016 at the Betty Richey Tournament hosted by Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The Pioneers won their opening game against Manhattanville in overtime, 2-1 but came up short in the championship against Vassar, 2-0. Juniors Cameo Tietje (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) and Sophie Chase (Milton, Mass./Milton) and first-year Sammie Pavlov (Royersford, Pa./Westtown) were named to the All-Tournament team for Smith. The Pioneers return 15 players from last year's team that finished 13-9 overall and won the ECAC Championship. Sophomore Beatrice Chaudoin (Millersville, Md./Severna Park) earned second team All-Conference honors and was named to the NFHCA All-Region second team in 2015. The Pioneers return 93 percent of their offense from a season ago, including their leading goal scorer Julia Hamilton (Williamstown, Mass./Deerfield Academy) (15 goals, 5 assists).

Home Openers
Smith is 2-3 overall in home openers since 2011.
