THE LEAD
Playing in the final home game of the season, the Smith College field hockey team fell to rival Mount Holyoke College, 2-0, inNew England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action Saturday afternoon. Prior to the game, Smith honored its six seniors: 
Neva Richardson (Rehoboth Beach, Del./St. Andrew's School), 
Vivian Nelson (Edmonton, Canada/Strathcona), 
Anna Ballou (Deerfield, Mass./Deerfield Academy), 
Sammie Pavlov (Royersford, Pa./Westtown School), 
Morgan Handwerger (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) and 
Maddie Ryan (Scituate, Mass./Scituate).
HOW IT HAPPENED
	- 4;40 - MHC - Margaret Robb unassisted
 
	- 29:17 - MHC - Kylie Brooks unassisted
 
GAME NOTES
	- The Pioneers drop to 30-29-3 all-time against the Lyons
 
	- Mount Holyoke held a slight 16-14 edge on shots while each team put nine on cage
 
	- The visitors were awarded a 6-5 advantage in corners
 
	- Handwerger put five shots on goal for the Pioneers
 
	- Making just her second start of the season, Smith goalkeeper Taylor Wells (Bryn Mawr, Pa./The Shipley School) made five stops in the loss
 
	- With the defeat, Smith is eliminated from playoff contention
