NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - A three-goal surge from Wheaton sparked a come-from-behind victory as Wheaton topped the Smith College field hockey team, 3-1, Saturday afternoon. 

SCORING SUMMARY

• 18:49 - Victoria Mellow (San Diego, Calif./Scripps Ranch) dribbled in from the top of the circle and used a reverse chip shot for the 1-0 lead
• 24:46 - Sophie Shekarchi netted the equalizer on a tip in from a direct shot by Lydia Gaudreau
• 32:22 - Ellie Williams beat a diving Smith goalkeeper to give the visitors the lead
• 51:47 - Bridget Healy added an insurance goal after collecting a loose ball on the left post and sent it to the back of the net

GAME NOTES

• The Pioneers owned a 9-4 advantage in shots and a slight 6-4 edge in penalty corners
• Channy Cornell (Arlington, Tex./The Oakridge School) was credited with one save for Smith in the loss
• This was Wheaton's first win over Smith since the 2014 season
