NORTHAMPTON - A goal in the 61st minute by Riley Vicinanzo gave Coast Guard a 2-1 win over the Smith College soccer team on Wednesday afternoon. The Bears improve to 5-5-2 overall and 2-3-1 in the NEWMAC, while the Pioneers drop to 4-6-1, 1-3-1 NEWMAC.

- The Bears got on the board in the 24th minute on a corner where Huynh intercepted a clear attempt by the Smith defense. Huynh's shot soared over the defense but the wind knocked it down to fall past the dive of Smith's keeper
- The Pioneers responded immediately as defender Morgan Watson (Piedmont, Okla./Piedmont) netted the equalizer a minute later on a rainbow shot from the 40 yard line.The goal was Watson's first in her career.
- Vicinanzo recorded the game-winning goal as Palinka's pass from the sideline was one-touched into the goal before the Smith goalkeeper could intercept the pass
- Noemi Howland (South Pasadena, Calif./South Pasadena) made seven saves for the Pioneers
- The Bears held a 16-10 advantage in shots, while Smith owned a 9-8 edge in corners
