NORTHAMPTON - The Smith College swimming & diving team collected a 168-116 win over Westfield State Saturday afternoon at Dalton Pool. The meet was highlighted by Katherine Welsh who collected her first NCAA Regional score on the 1-meter. The Pioneers won 12 of 16 events.

Swimming Highlights

• Julie Xiong picked up wins in the 200 breaststroke, 200 individual medley (IM), and the 200 fly, while Caroline Kolmodin topped the leaderboard in both the 1000 and 500 freestyle races
• Grace Magee also claimed a pair of wins in the 200 freestyle and 200 backstroke, while Abby Caputo grabbed two victories in the 100 back and 100 fly
• Abby McIlraith touched the wall first in the 100 breast

Diving Highlights

• Welsh, who finished first on the 1-meter with a score of 267.75, will need to achieve one more qualifying score to earn a bid to the NCAA Regional Diving Championship
• Welsh also won the 3-meter with a score of 252.55, while Leah Corckran placed third with 117.50 points
