Soccer Falls to Westfield State In Non-Conference Action

NORTHAMPTON, MASS. - The Smith College soccer team dropped a 4-2 decision to visiting Westfield State in nonconference play on Wednesday evening. The Pioneers move to 3-3-2 while the Owls improve to 6-2-1 on the season.

  • The Owls responded as Jenn Rennich scored her first of two tallies on the afternoon
  • Minutes later, Westfield posted another marker as a shot from Delaney Parker found the back of the net
  • In the 66th minute of action, Riley McKenna (Arlington, Mass./Arlington) took a shot that slipped past the goalkeeper 
  • Westfield scored one more goal as Rennich captured her second goal of the match
  • Smith totaled five corners in the match, while Westfield finished with four
  • Smith goalkeeper Skylar Smith (Carlisle, Mass./Concord-Carlisle Regional) made seven saves in the match
