NORTHAMPTON - Western New England scored a pair of goals in the second quarter to earn a 2-1 win over Smith field hockey Wednesday evening. The Pioneers slip to 6-7 on the year, while the Golden Bears move to 11-2.

• 22:51 SMI 0 WNE 1 - The Golden Bears got on the board in the second quarter when they were awarded a penalty stroke after a foul committed by the Smith defense. Haley Kaczka's shot found the lower left corner for the lead
