NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Smith College cross country team finished 10th overall in the Caroline Grape '22 Memorial Blue Championship Race of the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The highly competitive field consisted of 26 teams, where Smith finished ahead of No. 13 Amherst who placed 13th overall. 

No. 33 Smith placed 10th overall with 285 points just behind Tufts in ninth (266 points) and ahead of New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) rival Coast Guard in 11th (285 points). No. 5 NYU claimed the team title with 36 points while No. 23 Central College was the runner up with 130 points. No. 24 Vassar finished in third place with 138 points while No. 12 St. Olaf (157) and No. 27 Middlebury (171) rounded out the top five.
