Mather Davidson (Miami, FL/Ransom Everglades School) and
Skyler Williams (San Diego, CA/Canyon Crest Academy) each scored in Smith soccer's first conference win of the season Wednesday afternoon. The Pioneers improve to 3-3-3 on the year and 1-1-2 in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC). The Cougars move to 6-3-2, 2-3-0.
Game Highlights
- Davidson got Smith on the board in the final 10 minutes of the first half as Davidson controlled a loose ball on the right side of the goal and her shot found the back of the net
- A corner in the 74th minute gave the Cougars an opportunity for the equalizer, however Ashlee Samuel's shot went wide right
- Smith doubled their lead when Kyla Warner (Katy, TX/Tompkins) passed across the keeper and Williams was wide open to one-touch it into the goal

- Davidson's and Williams' goal were the first of the year
- The Cougars held an 8-7 advantage in shots and a 7-3 edge in corners
- Noemi Howland (South Pasadena, CA/South Pasadena) made five saves and recorded her first shutout of the year
- The Pioneers improve to 11-10-5 in the all-time series
