BABSON PARK - The Smith College soccer team was edged by Babson College, 1-0, in a key NEWMAC contest on Saturday afternoon at Hartwell Rogers Field.

• After a scoreless first half, Lillian McAughan knocked home the game-winner in the 67th minute
• The visiting Pioneers were looking for the equalizer late but had only one look over the final 20 minutes of play 
• Smith goalkeeper Skylar Smith (Carlisle, MA/Concord-Carlisle Regional) made seven saves in the loss
• Overall, Babson maintained a 19-10 advantage in shots, while each team took three corners
