NORTHAMPTON - The Smith College soccer team fell to Union College by a score of 2-0 in non-conference action Thursday afternoon.

Game Highlights

• Hannah Sams put the visitors ahead in the 4th minute on a free kick from 30 yards to the upper left corner
• Anne Pearl found the back of the net with a header off a corner kick from Vanessa Jorgensen to double the lead
• Smith's best opportunity came in the 89th minute on a shot from Una Keller (Davis, CA/Davis) that hit the crossbar. 
• Union led the way in shots on goal (7-3) and corners (2-1)
• Linnea Alvarado-Faulkner (Brandon, VT) made her first appearance of the season, stopping three shots in 45 minutes of second half action
