First Half Highlights
The first period began with Smith taking a proactive stance on offense. Despite an early shot by
Halie Yung (San Jose, CA/Lynbrook) at 6:09 that was saved by Springfield's goalie Sam Orcutt, Smith continued to apply pressure.
Callahan Day (Shady Side, MD/Elizabeth Seton) followed with another attempt, also stopped by Orcutt.
Anouk Bosket (Jordanstown, Northern Ireland/Belfast Royal Academy) joined the offensive efforts at 10:52, but her shot met the same fate. Smith maintained momentum, creating a penalty corner opportunity at 12:31, but
Annika Peterson's (Forest Hill, MD/North Harford) subsequent shot went wide. Springfield, while initially attempting to capitalize on penalty corners, found their shots off-target, keeping the game balanced. The period concluded with no goals scored, leaving the score at 0-0.
Springfield took the lead in the second period with a goal by Rachel Simkewicz at 20:12, marking her 12th goal of the season. Smith responded with offensive pressure, as Peterson took a shot that was saved by Orcutt at 22:47. Despite a save by Smith's goalkeeper

Second Half Highlights
The third period began with Smith showing offensive intent, as Day initiated multiple penalty corners, the first coming at 33:13.
Anouk Bosket (Jordanstown, Northern Ireland/Belfast Royal Academy) took a shot shortly after, but Springfield's goalkeeper, Orcutt, made a crucial save to maintain the scoreline. Day recorded another shot on goal at 42:00, once again saved by Orcutt. Despite a green card to Peterson, Smith's defense remained resilient, with Park making a key save against a Springfield attempt by Samara Skully at 44:41. Smith dominated possession during the third period, generating three penalty corners and two shots on goal, but Orcutt made key saves to maintain the scoreline. The period concluded with the score remaining 1-0 in favor of Springfield.
Smith's Day equalized early in the fourth period when she scored at the 48:04 mark, netting her 13th goal of the season and bringing the score to 1-1. Smith's defense held firm as Park made a critical save against a shot from Springfield's Sarah Goldstein at 55:55.
Overtime
Smith began the overtime period with a strong offensive push, with Peterson and
Grace Irizarry (Pennington, NJ/The Pennington School) both forcing saves from Springfield's goalkeeper, Orcutt. Despite controlling possession and creating opportunities, Smith could not capitalize, and Springfield's Nicolette Morlock converted a penalty stroke at 64:25 to seal a 2-1 victory.
