Bears Secure Dual Meet Win Over Westfield State

November 15, 2025

NORTHAMPTON - The Smith College swim and dive team defeated Westfield State Friday evening 184-94 at Dalton Pool. With its seventh win of the season, this secures a winning regular season record for the first time since the 2013-14 season.

"We're very proud of this team. Coach Maya made a great point to the team after the meet - they're doing such a better job focusing their pre and post race analyses on detail and process oriented components as opposed to focusing on the outcome. The team is understanding more and more that our focus on the process - to try out best and "find out" - is leading to better and better results. Despite a tough week, the team showed great grit and spirit and we're excited to see what we can accomplish in practice over the next few weeks as we shift our focus toward our mid season invitational." --Head Coach Caleb Potvin
