AMHERST — The fourth-ranked Amherst soccer team defeated Smith College 2-1 on Sunday at Gooding Field, maintaining their unbeaten record at 3-0-0. The Bears dropped to 0-3-0 following the loss to the Mammoths.
"We can take away many positives from today's game," said head coach
Kathy Brawn. "There were impressive moments -
Sky Smith (Carlisle, MA/Concord-Carlisle Regional) had a phenomenal outing, thwarting Amherst's attempts throughout the contest.
Jenna Marsh (Barnstable, MA/Cape Cod Academy) showed great composure and determination as she scored her first collegiate goal. This was our most complete effort to date. I'm proud of this group and how well they are gelling out in the field."
