Smith Announces Addition of Olivia Genesse to Sports Performance Staff

August 21, 2026

NORTHAMPTON - Smith Athletics and head sports performance coach Jake Turner has announced the addition of Olivia Genesse as an assistant sports performance coach. Genesse will work directly with volleyball, swim & dive, and lacrosse while pursuing a master's degree in exercise and sport studies.

"We are excited to welcome Olivia to the team," said Tuner. "Olivia brings solid experience working with a variety of programs with unique needs. This makes her an excellent addition to mine and her team's staffs and we are looking forward to learning from her."

Genesse joins the Bears after serving as assistant strength and conditioning coach at Clark University, where she designed and implemented strength and conditioning programs for three teams and assisted with 11 other varsity programs. She previously served as a strength and conditioning intern at Bryant University.

A Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA, Genesse earned her bachelor's degree in Wellness and Exercise Science from Rhode Island College

The Bears' sports performance program will continue to focus on developing student-athletes through individualized training, injury prevention, performance enhancement, and preparation for championship success.
