NORTHAMPTON - Lila Gilmer has been named an assistant coach with the cross country program, Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Jack Wood announced. Gilmer will be pursuing her masters of exercise and sport studies over the next two years, while assisting with all aspects of the program.
"From the moment she stepped on campus, it was clear Lila was the perfect addition to our staff," said Wood. "Beyond her experience competing on national qualifying teams and coaching a top high school program, she connects with our athletes and already inspires them every day. She brings a fierce authenticity and drive that brings out the best in everyone around her, and we can't wait to see what we build together this season."
Gilmer was a four-year member of the Colorado College cross country and track and field teams and was selected as a captain of both programs. She spent the last year assisting with the Cheyanne Mountain High School cross country and track and field teams.
Gilmer graduated from Colorado College with a bachelors degree in Psychology this past May.
