SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — The Smith College tennis team finished the Thoroughbred Invitational with a 3-0 sweep of Swarthmore in Sunday's final doubles round, capping a weekend against host Skidmore, Swarthmore and RPI at the McCaffery-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center.

Sunday's doubles session opened with two wins over RPI in 8-game pro-sets. Ayla Hauser (Knoxville, TN/Bearden) and Heidi Cambron (Sherbrooke, Canada/Champlain College Lennoxville) controlled their match from start to finish in an 8-2 win over Gauri Muliyil and Juliette Ceas. Ava Emrich (Smyrna, Delaware/Tower Hill School) partnered with first-year Lara Paunovic (Pozarevac, Serbia/Požarevac Gymnasium), who made her doubles debut, and Paunovic's baseline play set up Emrich to finish points at the net in an 8-4 victory over Kayla Wheeler and Victoria Sarabosing. Sophia Dube (Portland, OR/Oregon Episcopal School) and Sabrina Wang (Beijing, China/Princeton) fell to Skidmore's Wilson and Rosenberg 8-7 (7-5), and Cambron and Emrich pushed Ginevra Muratori and Chandra to a 7-6 (7-2) finish in the second round.

Smith won all three matches against Swarthmore in the final round. Dube and Wang jumped out to an early lead against Ella and Kirsten Strickler, and after the Garnet battled back, Dube closed out a 7-5 win with a strong service game. A day after falling to Erin Li and Claire DeDonder in singles, Hauser and Cambron served and returned well to beat the pair 6-2. Paunovic and Emrich completed the sweep with a 6-3 win over Komorek and Diya Gupta.

In Saturday's singles, Cambron used her serve and return to beat Wheeler 8-3, then faced Muratori, who finished the 2026 season ranked No. 1 in her region. After dropping the first set 6-3, Cambron took the second 7-5 and led 5-1 in the match tiebreak before Muratori rallied to win 10-7. Emrich dropped three games in an 8-3 win over Sarabosing. Hauser fell to Muliyil 8-7 in a tiebreak, then used her serve to disrupt Skidmore's Jacobs in a 6-4, 6-4 second-round win. Paunovic added an 8-4 win over Gupta in the third round.

Smith returns to action at the ITA Regional Championship, Oct. 2-4, in Brunswick, Maine.
