Biography:
Coach Turner joined Smith College Athletics in July of 2016. He directly oversees the programming for 5 Smith Varsity teams and coordinates a Sports Performance staff of 2 Graduate Assistants that oversee the programming for the remaining 6 Smith Varsity teams. He is also responsible for the management and coordination of the Olin Center Facility and it's staff.

Prior to coming to Smith College, Coach Turner was an Assistant Athletics Performance Coach at the University of Portland. Turner was responsible for the strength program of Portland's men's and women's track and field team as well as assisting with the development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for all other sports. During his last few months in Portland, Turner inherited programming responsibilities for other sports due to a coaching change within the Athletic Performance department. Those programming responsibilities included: Men's Basketball, Men's and Women's Soccer, and Women's Volleyball. He was also an adjunct professor teaching weight training and personal fitness courses to students on campus.

Coach Turner spent a year at Austin Peay State University as a graduate assistant in the strength and conditioning department. During his time at Austin Peay he was in charge of the strength training program for men's and women's basketball, the track and field team, and was in charge of conditioning the men's and women's tennis teams. He also assisted with the implementation of the strength and conditioning for all other sports.

During his time at Middle Tennessee State he served as an intern for 3.5 years on the strength and conditioning department. He assisted with football, men's and women's basketball, and baseball. During his senior year, he was in charge of the strength program for men's and women's track and field.
