Jack Wood

Jack Wood enters his second season as an Assistant Coach of Cross-Country and Track & Field at Smith College in 2022.

Prior to Smith, Wood spent three seasons as an Assistant Coach of Cross-Country and Track & Field at his alma mater The College of New Jersey. At TCNJ Wood was primarily responsible for writing and implementing strength training programs for the teams’ distance runners, as well as consulting student-athletes on nutrition and performance strategies. 

Wood got his start in coaching as an Intern Assistant Coach for Princeton University Strength and Conditioning. In his two seasons at Princeton, Wood worked primarily with the track and field, rowing and fencing teams. 

A 2019 graduate of TCNJ, Wood was a member of three NJAC conference championship teams and was a two-year team captain. He also contributed to a school record in the indoor 4x800mR and holds all-time top-5 school performances in both the indoor and outdoor 800m.

While at TCNJ, Wood was a member of the Honors Program and graduated with a B.S. in Health and Exercise Science and a minor in Political Science while making multiple Dean's Lists. He is currently pursuing a Master's in Exercise and Sport Science at Smith.
