    Volunteer Assistant Throws Coach

Sara White enters her first season as a volunteer throws coach for the Smith College track and field team. White graduated from Florida State University in 2001 as a thrower on both full academic and full athletic scholarships. While at Florida State, she was a four-year member of the track and field team and helped the Seminoles win the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship in 2000 with a 4th place finish in the hammer throw. The following year she placed 3rd at the ACC Outdoor Championship. For many years, White held her position in Florida State’s Top 10 List with the 3rd farthest throw in hammer.

She began her throwing career in high school with discus and shot put at Charlotte High School in Punta Gorda, Florida and qualified for the National Junior Olympics twice during her high school career.
