Rose Carr

Carr begins her first season as an assistant coach with the Smith College rowing program in September 2026. She came to Northampton after two years as an assistant coach at Navy.

Prior to her time in Annapolis, Carr enjoyed a strong collegiate career as a rower at Ohio State before spending time as an assistant at Penn.

As a collegiate rower, Carr suited up as a member of the Ohio State University team. Her success came in individual boat action, as well as with the team, as the Buckeyes won the 2018 Big 10 Championship with Carr racing with the title-winning second varsity eight crew. At the 2018 NCAA Championship regatta, Ohio State placed sixth in the nation, while Carr and the 2V8 crew came in eighth overall. One year later in 2019, Ohio State finished runner-up at the Big 10 Championship as Carr rowed the Buckeyes' 2V4 to a bronze medal effort.

Internationally, she has competed at three U-19 World Rowing Championships, starting in 2015 as a spare for the 2- crew and continuing onto the 2016 regatta as a member of the 4x crew and finally with the 4- team at the 2017 championship. Carr and her teammates in the 4- boat in 2017 finished third in the world.

She graduated from Ohio State with a Bachelor's of Science in Education and Sports Industry in 2021. Carr will be pursuing a Masters degree in Exercise and Sport Studies while at Smith.Â
