Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 PROVIDENCE, R.I.--Smith College's volleyball team fell in both of their matches at the Johnson & Wales Fall Classic on Saturday. The Pioneers matched up against Plymouth State University and UMass-Dartmouth.

Plymouth State topped Smith 3-0 (10-25, 23-25, 20-25). Bethany Ashworth (North Falmouth, Mass./Bourne) led the way with 23 digs against the Panthers, while Sibyl Brown (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery Blair) had seven kills for Smith (1-12).

UMass-Dartmouth knocked off the Pioneers 3-0 (22-25, 17-25, 19-25).  Ashworth had 20 digs, and Laurel Belton (San Bernardino, Calif./Aquinas) added six kills and three service aces.

Lauren Martinez (Phoenix, Ariz./Cortez) was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Smith will return to NEWMAC action on Tuesday, playing local rival Springfield College.  Game time is at 7 p.m.
