Box Score SOUTH HADLEY, Mass.--Ellie Theurer's goal in the 72nd minute lifted Smith to a 1-1 draw with Mt. Holyoke College in their New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opener on Saturday afternoon.

Theurer lost two defenders in the box and slipped the ball underneath Mt. Holyoke goalie Elaine Harvey to level the game.  Mt. Holyoke (0-3-1, 0-0-1 NEWMAC) had taken the lead when Margaret Hanmer redirected a free kick past Smith goalie Lindsey Gregor five minutes before halftime.

Theurer had a chance to win the game in overtime for Smith (0-3-1, 0-0-1 NEWMAC), but her shot was smothered by Harvey.  Aidan Hitt also came close to winning the game, but was denied when Harvey tipped her shot over the crossbar.  

Lindsey Gregor (Bradenton, Fla./Southeast) was not to be outdone by Harvey, making eight saves to keep the Lyons at bay.

Smith will be back in action on Wednesday, September 22, when they play host to Elms College.  Mt. Holyoke will host Wesleyan on September 21.
