Box Score NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--Jenny Holland scored seven goals to lead Wellesley College to a 20-8 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) win over Smith College on a chilly Saturday afternoon.  The win improves Wellesley's record to 8-5 overall and 2-2 in the NEWMAC, while Smith drops to 3-10 with an 0-5 record in NEWMAC competition.

The Blue scored seven consecutive goals early in the first half to take ahold of the contest.  Meaghan Fileti (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif./Palos Verdes) gave Smith a 1-0 lead with a free position goal at the 26:54 mark, but Wellesley countered with four goals to force a Smith timeout.  Allison Robbins leveled the score, and then set up goals from Holland and Britt Mscisz, and Elizabeth Clemetson made it 4-1 at the 24:57 mark.  Out of the timeout, Holland netted her second goal, and Robbins and Megan Fuchs both netted for a 7-1 lead with 14:50 to play in the first half.

Sofia Nakhnikian-Weintraub (Eugene, Ore./South Eugene) set up Fileti for a goal to stem the tide, but Wellesley surged ahead with five of the next six goals to open up a 12-3 lead.  Fileti had the only Smith goal in that span, and scored again to cut the margin to 12-4 at halftime.

Meredith Roy opened the second half with a goal for Wellesley, but another goal from Fileti and an MK Pasini (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Hartley) tally got Smith within 13-6, but the Blue closed the game on a 7-2 run.

Fileti finished with a career high five goals, while Pasini, Becky Bracken (Barrington, R.I./Barrington), and Mollie Major (Williamstown, Mass./Mt. Greylock) each netted once for Smith.  In addition to Holland, Robbins and Mscicz each scored four times for Wellesley.
