NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--NEWMAC play resumes for the Smith College tennis team (0-2, 0-2 NEWMAC) when they make the short trip to Springfield College to take on the Pride (3-2, 0-2 NEWMAC) on Tuesday afternoon.

Last Meeting:  Smith grabbed a 7-2 win over Springfield on October 4, 2011.  The Pioneers swept all three doubles matches, and won at Nos. 3-6 singles for their first win of the year.

Smith Overview:  The Pioneers come into today's match after three members of the squad took part in the ITA Regional at MIT.  Bayla Weick (Woodbridge, Conn./Amity), Haruka Shimoto (Tokyo, Japan/International School of the Sacred Heart), and Jana Chan (San Francisco, Calif./The Bay School) all competed for Smith, though none advanced out of the first round.

Springfield Overview:  The Pride have alternated wins and losses this season, taking decisions from Salve Regina, Western New England, and Suffolk, but falling to league foes MIT and Wheaton.

Did you know? Both Springfield head coach Toby Coffin and Smith coach Chris Davis are Springfield alums.
