NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--The Smith College tennis team (0-3, 0-3 NEWMAC) will play in just their second home match of the season when the Pioneers host Wheaton College (4-1, 2-1 NEWMAC) on Saturday.


Last Meeting: Smith fell to the Lyons 8-1 on September 17, 2011.  Eunice Zhao (Las Vegas, Nev./Liberty) and Julia Signell (Falmouth, Mass./Falmouth Academy) picked up the lone point for Smith with an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles.

Last Smith Win: October 3, 2009.  Smith 6, Wheaton 3.  The Pioneers handed the Lyons what would be their only loss in NEWMAC play that fall, winning two doubles matches and four singles matches.  Jaimi Inskeep, then a sophomore won at No. 2 singles, as did Clair Oblamski, who triumphed in three sets at No. 4.

Smith Overview: The Pioneers dropped a 9-0 decision to Springfield College on Tuesday. 

Wheaton Overview: Wheaton has won two in a row, with league wins over Springfield College and Babson College.  The only blot on the Lyons' record is a 5-4 decision at Mount Holyoke.
