NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--It's back to the court for the Smith College tennis team (0-4, 0-4 NEWMAC) when they take on longtime rival Mount Holyoke College (3-3, 2-2 NEWMAC) on Tuesday afternoon.

Last Meeting:  Mount Holyoke took a close 5-4 decision over Smith on September 27, 2011.  The decisive match came at No. 5 singles, where the Lyons won 7-6 (8-6), 1-6, 6-3.  Smith got wins at Nos. 2, 3, 4 singles, and No. 3 doubles.

Last Smith Win: October 24, 2009 - Smith defeated Mount Holyoke 5-3 to advance to the semifinals of the NEWMAC tournament.  Clair Oblamski, and Ally Hawkins picked up singles victories, and Smith swept all three doubles matches to claim the win.

Smith Overview: The Pioneers dropped a 9-0 decision to Wheaton College on Saturday.

Mount Holyoke Overview:  The Lyons have alternated wins and losses this year, including a tight 5-4 decision over Wellesley College on October 6. 

Did you know?  Smith's last regular season NEWMAC championship came in 1997.
