SOUTH HADLEY, Mass.--The Smith College tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to Connecticut College on Saturday, by an 8-1 score that saw Smith lose the top four singles matches in tiebreakers.  The match was played at Mount Holyoke College.

The Camels swept all three doubles matches.  Sara Krivoshik and Jen Herbert beat Gianna Teague (Gahanna, Ohio/Columbus Academy) and Jordan Dubin (Southampton, N.Y./Southampton) at No. 1 by a score of 8-2, while Brittney Cangemi and Brittany Badik edged Jaimi Inskeep (Warrenville, Ill./Wheaton Warrenville So.) and Clair Oblamski (Brookfield, Wis./Brookfield East) 8-5 at No. 2.  Madeline Swanson and Monica Rohrbach completed the sweep with an 8-2 win over Allie Ryan (Springfield, Mass./Springfield Central ) and Julia Signell (Falmouth, Mass./Falmouth Academy) at No. 3.

Smith would battle back in singles play, as Oblamski earned Smith's only point at No. 5 with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Swanson.  But the Pioneers could not get a tiebreaker to go their way, as Teague fell to Krivoshik 5-7, 6-5, 10-12 at No. 1 singles, and Dubin lost to Herbert 5-7, 6-1, 6-10 at No. 2.
