NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--The Smith College volleyball team (9-4, 2-3 NEWMAC) returns home for the first time in over a week when the Pioneers play host to Emerson College (10-5, 2-2 NEWMAC) on Tuesday evening.

Fast Facts: Emerson is in its first year as NEWMAC member in 2013-14...the Lions went to the NCAA tournament last year as a member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference in 2012...Emerson is coached by Ben Read, who coached another NEWMAC school, Wheaton College...Both the Lions conference wins came in five set matches against Mount Holyoke and WPI...Smith won yet another five set match against Framingham State University in a tri-match at MIT this past weekend...a win tonight would equal Smith's conference win total from last season...Smith would also reach double-digit wins for the first time since 2008...
