NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--The Smith College volleyball team co-hosts the 2013 Volleyball Hall of Fame Tournament on Friday and Saturday. The Pioneers (16-7) will play Trinity (CT) (13-8) on Friday afternoon, followed by matchups with Westfield State (15-12) and Brandeis (9-17) on Saturday.
Last Meeting, Trinity (CT): This is the first meeting with Trinity for four years, where the Bantams beat Smith 3-0 (13-25, 7-25, 13-25).
Last Meeting, Westfield State: The Owls staved off a Smith comeback with a 3-2 (24-26, 27-29, 25-16, 25-18) at the 2012 edition of this tournament.
Last Meeting, Brandeis: The Judges squeaked past Smith 3-2 (19-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-18, 11-15) at the 2012 Volleyball Hall of Fame Tournament.
The Series: Smith has won 19 of the 23 all-time matchups with Trinity, and 18 of the 20 with Westfield State. The Pioneers holder a slimmer 21-15 lead in 36 all-time meetings with Brandeis.
