Game Preview: Volleyball vs. Mount Holyoke

NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--The final home game of the regular season begins at 7 p.m. when the Smith College volleyball team (19-7, 4-4 NEWMAC) hosts Mount Holyoke College (10-16, 0-8 NEWMAC) on Tuesday night.  Smith will honor their five seniors before the game.


Last Meeting: Smith topped Mount Holyoke, 3-0 in the opening game of the 2013 Seven Sisters Championship.

The Series: Smith has won 43 of the 63 all-time meetings between these two.

Fast Facts: The Lyons have lost eight of nine...Mount Holyoke has a 17 game conference losing streak dating back to 2011...Sophomore Emma Sweeting has a team high 242 kills...Smith's five seniors will be looking for a win that will send them back to the NEWMAC tournament...The Pioneers reached 19 wins with three victories at the Volleyball Hall of Fame tournament...that equals as many as in the previous three years combined...the Class of 2014 has helped revitalize a program that went 3-21 and endured a 15 game losing skid in their first year...a win would give Smith its first 20 win season since 2005 and the 13th in school history...

Next Up:  Smith ends the regular season on the road at Wheaton on November 2.  Mount Holyoke heads to WPI on the same day.
