NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--The season continues for the Smith College tennis team (0-2, 0-2 NEWMAC) when the Pioneers travel to Wheaton College (4-0, 2-0 NEWMAC) for their first road match of the season.
Last Meeting: Â Wheaton beat Smith 9-0 on October 6, 2012.
Last Smith Win: October 3, 2009. Smith 6, Wheaton 3. The Pioneers handed the Lyons what would be their only loss in NEWMAC play that fall, winning two doubles matches and four singles matches.  Jaimi Inskeep, then a sophomore won at No. 2 singles, as did Clair Oblamski, who triumphed in three sets at No. 4.
Fast Facts: Â Smith fell to Babson, 8-1, on Friday afternoon...Andrea Tanco (Veracruz, Mexico/Li Po Chun (Hong Kong)) won a third set tiebreaker 10-3 for Smith's only point at No. 6 singles...Wheaton has only dropped three points all year, in four matches...the Lyons have beaten Simmons, Nichols, Mount Holyoke, and Springfield.
Next Up: Smith will be at Mount Holyoke on September 24, while Wheaton will also be in action that day, heading to Emerson College.
