NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--Wellesley College posted straight set wins at all six singles positions en route to a 9-0 win over Smith College in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's tennis action on Saturday.
Smith is now 0-1 overall and in NEWMAC play, while Wellesley is 2-0, and 1-0 against NEWMAC competition.

Kelli Cheung (Plainfield, N.J./Union County Acad.) fell to Sojung Lee at No. 1 singles, while
Seema Samawi (Damascus, Syria/King's Academy) fell by matching 6-0, 6-0 scores to Carina Chen at No. 2. Â The Blue used a 6-0, 6-1 win from Lina Ye over Smith's
Ruth Yi (Federal Way, Wash./Beamer) at No. 3, while
Margaret Anne Smith (Spring Lake, N.J./High Technology) fell by the same score at No. 4. Â
Kathryn Dernbach (Naples, Fla./Community School) lost to Samantha Stone 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5, and
Andrea Tanco (Veracruz, Mexico/Li Po Chun (Hong Kong)) was bested 6-2, 6-0 by Caroline Dickensheets.
In doubles play, the Smith tandem of
Tessy Lopez (Pomona, Calif./Ganesha) and Tanco was beaten by Carina Chen and Sojung Lee at the No. 1 position, while
Margaret Anne Smith (Spring Lake, N.J./High Technology) and Cheung fell to Andjela Stojkovic and Ye at No. 2. Â
Alexandra Steck (Loudonville, N.Y./Emma Willard) and
Hana Foe (Tempe, Ariz./McClintock) combined at No. 3, and lost to Wellesley's Kendall Tada and Dasha Kostinkina.
Smith will next be in action on September 20, hosting Babson College in a NEWMAC matchup that begins at 1 p.m. Â Wellesley will host MIT on September 14, beginning at 1 p.m.
