Game Preview: Basketball vs. Babson

NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--The season rumbles on for the Smith College basketball team (6-9, 6-5 NEWMAC) when the Pioneers host Babson College (7-8, 7-4 NEWMAC) on Wednesday evening.  Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.


Last Meeting: Smith fell to Babson 70-56 in the third game of the year back on November 23, 2013.

The Series: Babson leads, 32-9, and has won 11 straight over Smith.

Fast Facts: Babson had a five game winning streak ended by a 71-65 loss to Coast Guard on Sunday afternoon...the Beavers are a young team, with no seniors and three juniors on the roster...Linnett Graber is the only player who has started all 15 games, and is the only player who averaging is double-figures (11.4 points per game)...Babson is 13-5 all-time at Smith...Smith suffered a 63-39 defeat to Clark on Sunday afternoon...the Pioneers shot just 20.3% from the floor, including 5-for-35 (14.3%) in the second half...the Pioneers have allowed exactly one more point they they've scored all season long...Smith leads the league in shots attempted (62.4) and offensive rebounds (15.3 per game) in NEWMAC contests...

Next Up:  Smith heads to Wheaton for a 1 p.m. start on Saturday, January 25.  Babson will also be in action on Saturday, hosting Springfield at 3 p.m.
