NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – The Smith College lacrosse team (1-9, 0-2) heads to MIT (7-3, 0-2) on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) contest.
Last Meeting: The Engineers won last year's meeting 17-11 in Cambridge.
The Series: MIT has won 15 of the 25 games to date, including four of the last five. The Pioneers last topped the Engineers, 17-15, on March 24, 2012.
Fast Facts: The Engineers are coming off a 13-12 overtime loss to Keene State…Kira Schott (2nd – 36) and Isabella DiDio (5th – 33) are in the top five amongst NEWMAC goal scorers…DiDio and Schott also lead MIT with a combined 18 caused turnovers…The Engineers entered the week 10
th in the nation with 15.75 draw controls per game…Smith has scored 11 goals in each of the last three games…the Pioneers have scored 42 goals in each half this season…Smith continues to have the upper hand in free position goals as the team has scored 31 compared to 20 by opponents…the Pioneers have come up with double-digit draw controls each of the past five games.
