Box Score 2 SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Smith College volleyball team ended play at the two-day Western New England Volleyball Invitational Saturday, falling to Western Connecticut State University and host Western New England University, both by 3-1 scores.The Pioneers fell to the Colonials of Western Connecticut State by set scores of 13-25, 25-22, 18-25 and 8-25. The Colonials were perfect on the weekend, going 3-0 en route to winning the 2014 Western New England Volleyball Invitational Championship.

Mei-Li Smith (Cypress, Calif./Cypress) again flirted with a triple-double, as she finished the match with eight kills, 10 assists and 19 digs. First-year middle hitter
Jenna Rubin (Norfolk, Conn./Suffield Academy) and sophomore opposite hitter
Allison Hardy (Nashville, Tenn./University School of Nashville) chipped in five kills, respectively.
The Pioneers are back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 9 when they travel to Newton, Mass. To take on Lasell College. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
